What do we need from you?

  • 1 - 3 years of experience working in the online advertising/marketing space or SaaS supporting clients and/or vendors
  • Experience working with tag management or online advertising tools (DMP/DSP/RTB/Attribution/CRM)
  • You love to learn new technologies (no, really!), and you have familiarity with at least one of the following: JavaScript/jQuery/HTML/AJAX/API. You don’t need to be a coder, but you will be learning these skills and using them everyday as part of your role
  • Speaking of new technologies, you have embraced and tackled them in your current and/or previous roles
  • You geek out over troubleshooting, and love analysis, detective-work and problem solving. You’ll be working with lots of grey areas, hunting out inefficiencies and iterating over solutions
  • You know your audience and can communicate appropriately, effectively translating technical ideas to non-technical people and vice versa
  • You are service-oriented, have fantastic people skills, and find satisfaction in helping others
  • You can operate with a sense of urgency, are highly organized, and can use project management, time tracking and collaboration tools to prioritize client requests or bring them to the attention of the account team, if necessary

Signal is looking for a brilliant Technical Writer with experience creating content in the ad tech, programmatic media or marketing technology space. This is an ongoing, contract role that will run from December 2018 to mid-2019 with the expectation you will work 40/hours a week. Signal is seeking a super smart, incredibly organized and customer-service focused Part Time Office Coordinator to join our downtown Chicago office. During your 20 hours a week at our office, you’ll be making sure the engine runs for our Chicago corporate headquarters team; keeping our kitchen snacks and coffee stocked, office supplies ordered, guests greeted and main phone lines covered, among other things.

So, what would you be doing?

  • Procuring all kitchen and office supplies via Peapod, Instacart & Amazon. The office supplies are few and far between. The kitchen snacks are off the chain.

Signal is looking for a high performing VP, Human Resources to help us champion Signal’s culture and values. You will partner with other business leaders in building and scaling our organization. The VP, Human Resources has previous experience working in a fast paced, changing environment and possesses strong people, leadership and operational skills with demonstrated success in building a high-performance organization. The successful candidate possesses strong skills in effective organizational design and continuous improvement and implementation of processes and programs.   • Support and facilitate Signal’s strategic and operational goals, champion and uphold our vision and our values.
  • Align business strategic objectives with HR objectives.
  • Be the person Signalites trust with their careers and work lives. You will own multiple functions, including benefits, compliance and employee relations.
  • Build a culture of people development, feedback and kindness with a dash of necessary compliance to help us scale.
  • Oversee and manage an effective talent acquisition and recruiting process.
  • Develop and manage a successful ongoing, onboarding process resulting in strong retention and growth.
  • Encourage and establish superior management practices through coaching, supporting developmental activities, and engaging managers.
  • Manage HCM systems and develop and enhance policies that foster growth and scale.
  • Partner with Finance to support and execute our operating strategy and budget, including establishing and offering competitive compensation packages that are aligned with our company’s key performance initiatives.
  • Oversee the implementation and administration of our benefits programs.
  • Stay up to speed with current best practices in Human Resources.
  • Partner with Legal; be very knowledgeable and stay abreast with employment law and know when to seek counsel.
  • Most importantly help to build and maintain our company culture, loyalty and enthusiasm among Signalites as we continue to grow and evolve.

What we need from you:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources or in Business Administration or similar field
  • At least 5 years’ experience in an HR leadership role preferably in supporting a fast, paced SaaS digital marketing tech company
  • PHR/SPHR/GPHR Certification preferred
  • Knowledge of laws (e.g. FMLA, FLSA, HIPAA, etc.) required
  • Results driven and a trusted partner; an individual who can produce outcomes and build credibility quickly
  • A thinker and a doer. You’re seriously great at implementing tactical and strategic solutions in a changing environment.
  • You have extensive experience in compensation and benefits as well as employee relations
  • Able to quickly learn about Signal, our technology, people and culture
  • Ability to present HR stats, facts and recommendations effectively in oral and written form
  • Be a proven relationship builder, especially with senior leadership
  • Passionate and empathetic. You care about the team and it shows.
