Chicago Music Exchange is seeking is looking for several social media/marketing/photography and video interns with a passion for all things music gear, especially guitars, bass, amps, pedals, and percussion. The Chicago Music Exchange Social Media/Marketing interns are responsible for assisting in the ideation and creation of social media and other marketing outreach posts and campaigns. Looking for a Team Player with the following experience:
• In-depth knowledge of guitars, drums, and other musical instruments ability to play a plus!
• Good communication skills; Must be well spoken, organized and articulate
• Excellent computer skills. Experience with social media specialty software a plus.
• Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills and be a self-starter able to take direction.
• Proven experience with graphic design and/or web.
• Knowledge and experience with Facebook, Instagram, YouTube and other social media platforms.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
General Responsibilities Include:
• Engaging with marketing team to execute ideas for innovative social media campaigns.
• Assist with social media engagement by helping manage social channels.
• Drafting, editing, and scheduling for social channels.
• Monitoring social media analytics (e.g. views, followers, engagements), and provide reports of activity.
• Assist with gathering data for marketing reports.
• Assist with graphic design projects such as banner ads, posters, prints and web.
• Experience with basic marketing web design is a plus.
This internship is for college credit and runs from June/September. It is a non-paid internship with flexible hours (minimum 20 per week) to reflect the need of your college credit requirements.

Chicago Music Exchange's Product Photography Department has an outstanding opportunity to join a passionate team of photographers in a dynamic, fast-paced retail environment. This role is responsible for the accurate photographing and editing of every product, across our showroom and warehouse locations, ensuring the utmost quality and efficiency possible.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Photograph and edit every necessary product with the photography team
- Flex between both locations in accordance with ever changing needs
- Organize tasks to ensure timely completion of duties
- Communicate with different departments to better prioritize products within queues
- Maintain photography supplies and equipment
- Shoot and edit products alongside the photography team
Requirements and skills needed:
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to adapt within rapidly changing workflows
- Enthusiasm for all things musical instruments and related
- Persistent desire to better the photography and product knowledge of yourself and your team
- Proficiency with Adobe Lightroom and Adobe Photoshop
- General working knowledge of DSLR cameras
- Proficiency with wireless studio lighting
- Familiarity with large-scale cloud-based file storage and maneuvering
- Experience with and strong understanding of the Google Suite of applications
- Knowledge of basic guitar anatomy, design, functionality, and history
Key relationships:
- With Product Managers and CEO to prioritize key products through photography as they arrive
- With Sales Managers to determine product needs for the sales floor
- With Guitar Processing team to determine best flow of used/vintage products in queue
- With Marketing Team to make sure that products are processed before being featured
We are seeking a motivated, passionate individual to engage customers and ensure all security protocols are being followed. This is a part-time position (3-4 days a week) and you must be able to work weekends. Background in Security and /or Retail Experience is a plus, but not mandatory.
The primary focus of this position is to engage customers in and out of our facility. In the very first second a customer walks into CME, you will be setting the tone for their whole experience. Other duties may include everything from: restocking inventory to ringing-up a sale at the front counter. We are looking for someone with great people skills who isn't afraid to take on additional responsibilities.
This is a perfect job for someone who has:
Security background, preferably in retail
High level of awareness and ability to multi-task in a fast-paced retail environment
Great communication and people skills
Decent computer skills and is Mac-friendly
Impeccable references
Available to work weekends
Retail experience is a plus
